Please Don’t Destroy Members Reveal Their Influences In Video Interview – Upnewsdaily

Ben Marshall, John Higgins and Martin Herlihy make up Please Don’t Destroy, the comedy troupe who write and perform weekly self contained short films that have become a standout segment on Saturday Night Live. The first season they got signed, their filmed segments often got cut for time. But now they’ve got a film that runs every episode, and almost always include the host of the week. The segments range from Timothee Chalamet contemplating suicide because no one will listen to his techno tunes, Bad Bunny wanting to reprise Shrek, Jenna Ortega joining the boys on a great American road trip, and Travis Kelce as a self defense teacher who nearly kills them. Other recent films featured Rami Malek, Steve Martin & Martin Short, and guests like Taylor Swift. The trio just expanded the brand to movies, writing and starring in Please Don’t Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Mountain, a raucous comedy that recently premiered on Peacock.

Marshall, Higgins and Herlihy met at NYU, and there formed a sketch comedy troupe they called Please Don’t Destroy My Farm. It didn’t take long for their shows to create enough buzz to draw talent scouts from SNL, and their consistency has allowed the show to take advantage of a viral penetration not seen since the days of Andy Samberg and his Lonely Island cohorts.

In a special Miramax Presents The Film That Lit My Fuse, the amiable trio tell the story of their rise, and how the films School of Rock, Wet Hot American Summer and Napoleon Dynamite sparked their ambitions.
