EXCLUSIVE: Former RX France execs Liliane da Cruz and Samira Haddi have launched Indicium Consulting, an events management biz for the entertainment industry.

The pair, who exited Mipcom and MipTV organizer RX France last year, debuted their new business last week at the inaugural SICA 2023, an African content event held at the Sofitel Abidjan Hotel Ivoire in Côte d’Ivoire.

The pair have worked in TV and film events management for more than 15 years. Their new B2B business will specialise in restructuring, planning, organizing, and executing events in the entertainment content industry.

Their debut event, SICA, ran from November 20 to 22 with the backing of the Côte d’Ivoire state. The line-up included the world premiere of Kagiso Lediga’s Classified. The series is billed as a gripping teen espionage drama from by Skybound Galactic and Johannesburg-based Diprente. It’s set to stream on Amazon Freevee in the U.S. and Netflix in Africa.

Sydney Gallonde, CEO and producer of Make It Happen Studio was among those delivering keynotes, alongside Zulumoke Oyibo, producer and Co-founder of Inkblot Productions; and Bunmi Akintonwa, Executive Producer of Little Black Book.

The likes of Cécile Gerardin, Head of Drama at Canal+ International, which has invested heavily in African content, were also present. As were Anthony Kimble, CEO & founder of LA-based Arrested Industries; David Gueye, Deputy Director of Digital at TV5 Monde; and Abel Kouamè, producer at Afrika Toon Animation.

“Launching Indicium Consulting alongside the inaugural SICA 2023 event has been a milestone in our careers,” said da Cruz and Haddi. “This journey has been a remarkable blend of creativity and excellence, thanks to the incredible talents and stories from Africa.

“We extend our deepest thanks to Minister of Communication, Amadou Coulibaly, Minister of Culture and Francophonie, Françoise Remarck, and the esteemed General Commissioner of the event, Jean-Martial Adou, for entrusting Indicium Consulting with the pivotal role of curating SICA’s programming.

“Additionally, we are immensely grateful to our exceptional speakers, moderators, and all dedicated professionals who contributed to making this event a roaring success. We eagerly look forward to hosting many more events, including the next edition of SICA, where we will continue to celebrate the rich tapestry of African talent and stories.”
